Working With Us
- The New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine believe and support the use of open source software. We use the OpenOffice.org software suite for word processing etc and also Adobe Acrobat to produce files in PDF format. If you use Microsoft Office we are happy to receive files from you in Word format , however in order to work with us you will need to download Open Office and Adobe Reader.
- We also recommend that you use a current virus checking program that is kept up to date on a regular basis.
OpenOffice
- OpenOffice is a free, open source software equivalent to (or better than) Microsoft Office. This means that OpenOffice.org is freely and openly available to download from the internet.
- See www.openoffice.org or www.openoffice.org.nz for more details and free download instructions.
- OpenOffice.org can read and write Microsoft Office files so there is no need to save in a special format. Open Office documents can be converted into MS Word or PDF files.
- OpenOffice.org is rapidly improving on importing Microsoft Office files, Open Office works with Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Office 2000. Support for Microsoft Office 2007 is only available in combination with Microsoft Office 2007 SP1.
Adobe Reader
- Adobe Reader is a free PDF reader software program that can be obtained from a number of download sites:

Wikepedia
- If you want to know more about OpenOffice or Adobe Reader we recommend that you go to Wikepedia on the Internet where there are good descriptions of these two programs.
