What Will I Learn

The course includes TCM theory as applied to midwifery, acupuncture practicals of channel and point location as applied to midwifery, the practice of selected needle techniques. TCM explanation of environmental disease factors, acupuncture treatment techniques, selected Obstetric disorders according to TCM patterns, close and limited supervised clinical training.

Qualifications Gained

On completion of this qualification, graduates will have a solid and well-established foundation in the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and clinical practice of obstetric acupuncture as applied to midwifery. The qualification will lead directly into the workforce or enable the pursuit of further tertiary study in acupuncture.

Endorsement

40 elective education points have been awarded to this course by the New Zealand Midwifery Council.
