What Will I Learn

The Diploma of Acupuncture Microsystems prepares graduates to treat patients using microsystems techniques and principles. Students will primariiy learn how to use the hand and foot microsystems (Su Jok)  supplemented by ear, scalp, face and nose systems to identify and treat health problems.

The course comprises Western Medical Studies (WMS) core curriculum, in combination with Microsystems (MIC) specialist theory and practical applications, including clinical experience. At each stage, students are instructed in the use of a particular microsystem and treatment options such as: micro needles, moxa, magnets, seeds, colour laser, rollers, ring massagers, as well as simple hand massage (pressure).

Clinical experience commences with students in the first half of year-1, gaining clinical awareness through observation and assistance roles in the student clinic. From the second half of year-1, students take on the role of clinical practitioner, delivering treatments using microsystems. Their clinical involvement continues in subsequent years, as each new microsystem is mastered, they gain permission to add it to their clinical services.

As Microsystem treatments can be combined with other treatment modalities this course is recommended for other Health practitioners to add to their healing skills.

Qualifications Gained

Graduates will have the ability to progress onto further higher level education, and in particular this diploma is ideally suited to combine with other TCM modalities offered by the school.
