Their affiliation with the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is a special and unique relationship. This means that at the appropriate time students enrolled at the School will be able to study at Liaoning Hospital of TCM and/or Liaoning University of TCM.
Liaoning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Founded in 1956, is situated in Shenyang, Liaoning Province in northern China. This highly reputed medical institution welcomes students and practitioners from around the world. After 50 years of continued development, the hospital has become a comprehensive provider and centre for internship, scientific research and TCM treatment.
The hospital provides undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD candidates with the highest standard of training available. Since its establishment, the hospital has trained practitioners from the USA, England, Japan, Korea, Israel, Australia, Malaysia and now New Zealand, many of whom have gone on to become outstanding TCM practitioners, teachers and researchers.
The option to study as a Liaoning Hospital intern or University student is exclusively available to our students, teachers, graduates and associated professionals. Internship experience is available in acupuncture, herbs and tuina. Contact administration for details.
The hospital is supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health in its role as a clinical centre for Chinese herbal pharmacology and as a key national base hospital. The Hospital has 20 major disorders treatment departments with 14 subdivisions each. It is also designated as a Key Base Hospital of the State Administration for TCM in addition to being an important centre for TCM research into diabetes.
Since its foundation, Liaoning Hospital of TCM has played an important role in the international acceptance and practice of TCM. It has established co-operative links with many universities, hospitals and academic establishments in countries such as the USA, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Russia, Australia and now New Zealand.
